Latest News!

Last week saw the adoption of Lasko and Logan two of our griffon cross pups who had been in foster for months but had to return to the refuge as we felt that unless they were seen they wouldn’t be adopted. We were right in this case but we do realize how hard it is for a foster family. When you foster pups you are giving them a fantastic start in life. You are keeping them safe from diseases which they have no immunity against and you are socializing them. The socialization bit is so very important if the pup is going to become a well balanced adult. Its impossible not to fall in live with your foster dogs and normally the pups leave the foster family direct to their forever family but if they are not adopted by 7-8 months the decision to bring them into kennels or sit it out so to speak must be taken. We don’t insist that they come in but its true that if pups are seen they are adopted quickly! The decision is with the foster mum and its one I would hate to have to make!
