Latest news.
Last week saw the adoption of Lagoon, an elderly gent who arrived at the refuge covered in lumps and very thin and tired. After a little operation to remove them and lots of tlc he bounced back and became a firm favourite with all of the volunteers. Lagoon was never going to be an easy dog to rehome, he was 11 years old, had arthritis, hated cats and didn’t like lots of dogs! However, miracles do happen and last week he went off to his forever home. We have already had news that he is enjoying home comforting, loving his walks and has become a much loved family member!
Fanta!
Fanta is a beauceron cross who has been with us for just over 2 years after having been found as a stray. There is nothing wrong with her; she has just been unlucky to have not been picked sooner. Two years is a long time for a female to be with us.
Fanta was born in August 2010, so when she arrived she was about three. She should have spent the last two years enjoying life and freedom, like other dogs of her age. Instead she has been locked up with just an occasional walk. Even with all that pent up energy Fanta does not pull on the lead but like all dogs who have been in kennels a a while will need an owner with time and patience!
Fanta shares he kennel with another long-termer, lovely boy Disco. She does not like cats but is fine with male dogs, the more boisterous the better!
